SAMMY HAGAR's 'Cabo Wabo Radio' To Go On Hiatus
January 8, 2009Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Radio will go "on hiatus" starting at midnight on January 10, 2009. Sammy's 60th birthday bash from Cabo will be replayed all day on the January 10 as a closing celebration to the station's first year of operation. Sammy's message to all his fans: "We'll be back."
Cabo Wabo Radio launched on December 31, 2007 and is broadcasted worldwide from Hagar's Cabo Wabo Cantina in popular spring break destination Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The station, programmed by Shadoe Stevens and Sammy Hagar, features high-energy new rock, hot rock, cutting-edge, and classic rock around the clock. "The coolest thing we can do is to expose fans to good music they've never heard before," Sammy previously said. "If any radio station is going to get my attention in life, it's going to be one where I'm going, 'Who is this? I like that song. Wait a minute, who is that?' I'll listen to that radio station all day. That's what Cabo Wabo Radio is all about!"
